Ukrainian telco Kyivstar is launching its own IoT platform to contribute to the development of technologies in the war-torn country.

The platform includes flexible, secure and effective tools for working with IoT and managing IoT M2M SIM cards and other operator services in a single space.

Access to the platform is integrated into the My Kyivstar general web platform for managing services for businesses.

Features and settings have been updated to suit business needs. Users can centrally manage all IoT M2M SIM cards in one system, and it provides improved traffic analytics. User access levels can be configured without involving the Kyivstar service team.

Since the IoT platform is Kyivstar’s own development, it can constantly improve its functions, taking into account the needs of the market and its customers for effective management of IoT.

Multiple SIM cards can be managed for M2M devices online. Users can control their equipment, monitor traffic, change tariffs, create automation rules and generate reports.

The IoT platform has all the important data about numbers: status, network presence, connected tariff, service consumption, device name, group, ICCID, IMEI and so on. Device information for many numbers can be imported from the user’s file.

Users can manage one number or many numbers at the same time. For example, they can change tariffs, deactivate and activate numbers, and block individual services such as internet, calls, SMS and so on. To simplify mass management, users can create separate groups of SIM cards. Information about activities and history is available for each number.

Rules can be set up on the platform to monitor the correct operation of devices and traffic usage. In particular, users can set conditions under which a certain action will be automatically performed. For example, if a certain number exceeds the limit of minutes, Mbytes or SMS set, services will be blocked. Or if the device’s IMEI changes, users will receive a notification. This will help protect SIMs from misuse and fraud.

The platform stores data on activity by number, used megabytes, messages and minutes. The list of activities can be downloaded to a separate file. Expenses are shown both by individual number and by personal company accounts. For each account there is information about the balance, debt and the history of replenishments.

For the IoT platform (kyivstar.ua/business/products/iot-platform), reports on the costs of all numbers are available, with and without details on the volumes used. Users can generate such reports for a specific month and download them to their computer.
