Swiss firm U-Blox is working with UK-based Wireless Logic to offer IoT connectivity and eSIM services.

U-Blox provides positioning and wireless communication technologies and services, and Wireless Logic specialises in IoT connectivity. The partnership is aimed at enhancing the capabilities of IoT devices through Wireless Logic’s Conexa IoT network and U-Blox’s cellular modules.

This collaboration should empower businesses and developers by providing seamless, robust and scalable connectivity, addressing the growing demand for reliable IoT deployments across various industries, including automotive, industrial, healthcare and smart cities.

By integrating Conexa into select U-Blox cellular modules, users should benefit from network reliability, global coverage and the flexibility to switch between multiple mobile networks via eSIM without the need for physical SIM card changes.

The combined offering aims to guarantee scalability and flexibility, making it easier for businesses to deploy IoT at scale. The ability to manage and monitor connectivity through Wireless Logic’s platform should provide users with greater control and visibility over their IoT deployments.

The combination could streamline the development process for IoT devices, reducing time to market and enabling faster deployment.

“We are excited to partner with Wireless Logic to offer their IoT connectivity services with our cellular modules,” said Martin Leach, head of U-Blox’s cellular business unit. “Their market leading eSIM and technical expertise aligns with our commitment to delivering state-of-the-art products that meet the evolving needs of our customers. By combining our technologies, we are enhancing the value proposition for IoT deployments, providing unmatched connectivity, security and flexibility.”

John Dillon, managing director of product and marketing at Wireless Logic, added: “This partnership with U-Blox marks a significant milestone in our mission to simplify IoT connectivity. As experts in cellular connectivity, we are well-equipped to support U-Blox’s global customers with all their cellular needs. By combining our connectivity services with U-Blox’s high-performance cellular modules, we are enabling businesses to deploy IoT more efficiently and cost-effectively. We look forward to seeing the innovative devices and applications that our combined offering will create.”

Headquartered in Thalwil, Switzerland, U-Blox (www.u-blox.com) employees 1400 people.

Wireless Logic (www.wirelesslogic.com) is an IoT connectivity platform provider, managing over 14 million IoT subscriptions worldwide. Its connectivity options include multi-network cellular, satellite and LPWAN, along with secure and scalable management platforms. Active in 165 countries and with direct partnerships with 50 mobile networks, it provides reach into more than 750 networks across the globe.

U-Blox has announced the Ann-MB2 (www.u-blox.com/en/product/ann-mb2-antenna) external GNSS antenna for wide coverage, multi-constellation high-precision applications. Optimised for the firm’s high-precision GNSS technology, it is suitable for industrial automation, surveying, autonomous vehicles, mobile robotics and other applications requiring centimetre-level position accuracy in difficult environments.

The compact, high-precision, real-time kinematic (RTK) antenna supports L1, L2, E6/B3, L5, L-band and all major GNSS systems. This all-band antenna has a robust architectural design, multipath mitigation and mounting options. Engineering samples are available now, and production is planned for later this year.
