Telit eSIM mulitprofile delivers seamless connectivity

Telit Cinterion has launched an eSIM multiprofile, leveraging GSMA SGP.22/.32 eSIM technology, a catalogue of connectivity profiles and a remote subscription management platform.

The multiprofile was developed for mission-critical applications that have traditionally relied on more costly alternatives, such as dual-SIM fail-over, to address coverage gaps. Given the nature of their operations that demand continuous connectivity, these applications cannot tolerate any cellular service disruptions.

The eSIM enables IoT devices to switch NExT e-profiles seamlessly to achieve optimal global and/or local coverage without requiring multiple SIM cards or other expensive options. With service from over 600 carriers in more than 200 countries, the NExT eSIM multiprofile (www.telit.com/next-esim-multiprofile) ensures resilient, georedundant connectivity for applications such as remote patient monitoring, first responders, payment systems, critical asset monitoring, cargo tracking, alarm systems and offender monitoring.

Traditional options typically have multiple SIM cards in a single device in a fail-over configuration and require active monitoring of the signal quality that can drive up costs and complexity. The NExT eSIM multiprofile eliminates these problems by leveraging vendor-agnostic remote eSIM provisioning standards. Users can select pre-defined SIM configurations with redundant profiles (NExT e-profiles) or use remote eSIM provisioning technology to integrate their own backup connectivity agreements.

The multiprofile ensures automatic network switching, delivering redundancy and resilience. Additionally, it lets OEMs and service providers implement single-SKU offerings that streamline global deployment without the need to navigate individual carrier coverage constraints.

“Reliable connectivity is essential for organisations where even brief network disruptions can have serious consequences,” said Israel Eybi from Telit Cinterion. “NExT’s eSIM multiprofile ensures seamless, automatic network transitions, providing the resilience and flexibility needed for mission-critical applications.”

Jose Sanchez, Telit senior director, added: “Our NExT eSIM multiprofile, built on the latest GSMA SGP.22/.32 eSIM standards, redefines connectivity for mission-critical applications. By combining this technology with our rich NExT e-profiles and remote management platform, we’re delivering redundancy that provides outage protection, single-SKU efficiency, and the freedom from carrier coverage limitations in global deployments.”

Telit Cinterion is expanding its NExT suite in the first half of 2025 with the launch of the eSIM multiprofile, strengthening its turnkey connectivity and device management services. The NExT portfolio empowers MVNOs, device OEMs, system integrators and end users to deploy SIM technologies seamlessly worldwide, including multi-IMSI, eUICC and remote SIM provisioning.

Telit Cinterion (www.telit.com) will be at next week’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on stand 5A32.
