T-Mobile has certified Chinese company Fibocom’s FG360-NA 5G module to provide wireless connection services such as FWA (fixed wireless access) in the USA.

“We are proud to see our 5G module FG360-NA being certified by T-Mobile,” said Gene Santana, vice president at Fibocom. “The module is now fully capable to be deployed in the US IoT market. Fibocom will continue to enable industry digital transformation with our advanced 5G technology.”

Based on MediaTek’s T750 FWA CPE customised 5G SoC chipset, the module supports 5G NR sub-6GHz band with up to 4.67Gbit/s on the downlink and 1.25Gbit/s on the uplink theoretically, enabling 5G speeds.

Integrated with T750, the module has high integration and performance that cover global main frequency band and ENDC with NA and EAU SKUs. Supporting 5G standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) architectures, the module is also backwards compatible with LTE and WCDMA network standards, which helps reduce investment complexity in the initial stage of 5G construction.

Coming with a built-in quad-core, 2GHz Arm Cortex-A55 CPU, the module supports 5G sub-6GHz 2CC CA (carrier aggregation) up to 200MHz to improve the use of spectrum resources and ensure an extended 5G coverage. It lets end devices enjoy the benefits of high-speed 5G plus Wifi 6 connectivity, such as Wifi 6 AX1800, AX3600 (mainstream), AX4200 and AX6000 configurations. The module also supports GNSS, including GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo and QZSS.

Interfaces include 2.5Gbit/s SGMII, USB 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0, PCIe 3.0, GPIO, I2S, and UIM. At present, the module series has been globally certified by FCC, CE and PTCRB, and commercial samples of are ready for mass production.

Fibocom is a provider of wireless communication IoT modules and is the first stock-listed wireless module provider in China. It provides end-to-end IoT wireless communications for telecom operators, IoT equipment manufacturers and IoT system integrators. With over two decades’ engagement in M2M and IoT communication technology, it is capable of independently developing wireless communication modules including 5G, LTE, LTE-A, NB-IoT, LTE-M, Android Smart, Android Automotive, WCDMA, HSPA+, GSM, GPRS, wifi and GNSS.
