Secure Thingz, a UK subsidiary of Swedish firm IAR Systems, is accelerating mass production and provisioning of secure IoT devices.

The firm has announced product releases and strengthened partnerships with global programming service providers to enable mass volume remote secure programming, inhibiting malware injection and IP theft, and supporting software bill of materials legislation.

The partnerships in the secure programming and provisioning industry have been coupled with updated versions of its Embedded Trust and Secure Deploy platforms.

Secure Thingz provides Embedded Trust for rapid development for security and root of trust definition and the Secure Deploy platform for secure supply chain provisioning and production. Together, they enable organisations to accelerate the secure development and production of their embedded IoT devices.

EPS Global is a programming service provider, working with distributors, contract manufacturers, silicon partners and OEMs across the globe in the transition to support secure programming and provisioning. In leveraging Secure Deploy, EPS is enabling Secure Thingz and IAR Systems’ customers to accelerate the complete flow of creating a secure supply chain, enabling encrypted programming between the OEM and the devices being programmed, inhibiting malware injection, IP theft, counterfeiting and overproduction.

“With OEMs now in production utilising both Embedded Trust and Secure Deploy, the complete flow from inception to manufacturing delivery and update is fully in operation,” said Haydn Povey, CEO of Secure Thingz. “We will continue to improve and expand these through our partner ecosystem, supporting our customers in adding security to their embedded applications in an efficient, scalable way.”

Secure Thingz is a domain expert in device security, embedded systems and lifecycle management. In 2018, the company was acquired by IAR Systems Group, a provider of software tools and services for embedded development. Secure Thingz is focused on delivering security in industrial IoT, critical infrastructure, automotive and other markets. The company is a founding member and executive board member of the IoT Security Foundation.

IAR Systems supplies software tools and services for embedded development. Founded in 1983, the company is headquartered in Uppsala, Sweden, and has sales and support offices all over the world.

Secure Thingz has presented its Compliance Suite for STM32. Compliance Suite provides developers and organisations with the security development tools, practical guidance and knowledge needed to build applications rapidly that are compliant with security legislation, such as the US Cyber Security Improvement Act, European Consumer IoT Security Standard EN 303 645 (Etsi), UK and Australian 13 Best Practices, and the Indian Code of Practice for Securing Consumer IoT (TEC31318:2021) regulations.
