Public sector technology specialist Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) has formed an alliance with Google Public Sector to promote AI at the edge across US government, public agencies, state and local authorities, science and universities, and defence.

The multi-year alliance will bring together SAIC’s expertise in technology integration across the US public sector, including public security, with Google Cloud AI, machine learning tools and cloud technologies.

The collaboration aims to meet specialised requirements such as low latency, high bandwidth, data residency, rugged hardware, and compliance for confidential data, and ensure access to mission-critical applications, even in disconnected environments.

Through the partnership, public sector organisations will be able to deploy AI at the edge to process data and generate insights in real-time, closer to the source, even in disconnected or intermittent environments, using Google Distributed Cloud infrastructure.

It aims to enhance decision-making and automate critical tasks through AI-driven applications deployed closer to the data source. It will also build on the security and compliance features of Google Cloud to protect sensitive data and meet stringent regulatory requirements.
