Memfault has joined 1NCE’s IoT platform with a plugin integration for remote debugging and monitoring.
1NCE customers can now integrate Memfault in three clicks to start collecting critical debugging and performance data from devices in the field. Including 1NCE’s cellular connectivity data in Memfault’s platform makes operating IoT device fleets easier for developers, with critical information together in one place.
IoT developers using the 1NCE platform can know exactly what their devices are doing in the field, and find and fix faults fast.
California-based Memfault offers 1NCE customers instant access to critical debugging data from their devices in the field with a few clicks via the plugin integration. Memfault will give 1NCE customers visibility into device performance in the field and help them identify and resolve faults before they impact customers.
The plugin lets users collect core dumps, logs, and critical health and performance metrics such as battery life, connection success rate and firmware stability out of the box. With Memfault, developers can track the health of every device in their fleet, debug faults without having to waste time trying to reproduce them and monitor the reliability of firmware as it is rolled out.
In rare cases when a device goes offline and the root cause is unclear – whether it’s connectivity, hardware or software – there’s no need for a truck roll, reducing operational cost.
“We are really excited about the potential of this new plugin integration to transform the way 1NCE customers maintain their devices in the field,” said Justin Platt, director of partnerships at Memfault. “We share 1NCE’s bold vision to provide IoT developers with tools that make developing, deploying and maintaining fleets of devices simpler than ever. IoT developers have had to put up with fragmented, outdated development tools for too long. Memfault brings cloud-style observability to IoT developers so they can find and fix faults in their deployed devices faster and with less effort.”
The combination of reliable cellular connectivity from 1NCE and Memfault’s remote debugging and monitoring capabilities should help companies increase the uptime and performance of their connected device deployments.
“Knowing what devices are doing in the field – and having the ability to make rapid fixes without sacrificing performance – can make or break an IoT deployment,” said Fabian Kochem, director of global product strategy at 1NCE.
Memfault is available to all 1NCE customers as a plugin from within the 1NCE platform. Instructions on how to set-up the integration are available in 1NCEs technical documentation and 1NCE customers can try the plugin for themselves at 1nce.com/en-eu/1nce-os/our-software-tools/device-debugging-memfault.
Memfault (memfault.com) provides observability and OTA update management purpose-built for devices. Compatible with constrained microcontroller-based devices to complex Linux and Android systems, Memfault helps embedded development teams understand how their devices perform in the field, and find and fix faults fast.
