Spanish firm Fractus Antennas is supporting WifFi 6E within its tiny, multiband One mXtend antenna booster.

The booster is a standard antenna that supports all possible frequency coverage combinations of Wifi 5, Wifi 6 and Wifi 6E.

The main advantage is that this virtual antenna booster can easily be tuned to any band requirements by only adjusting a matching network. Any wifi standard can be tuned at any time, including Wifi 6E. The result is an engineer can create a design that is both cutting edge today and ready for whatever the future holds for connectivity tomorrow.

The booster measures 7.0 by 3.0 by 1.0mm. Volume is 21m3. Thanks to its miniaturisation and versatility, it can be embedded in small form factor devices.

Frequency ranges are 2400-2500MHz, 5170-5835MHz and 5925-7125MHz. Evaluation boards are available.

Wifi 6E brings higher data rates, reduced spectrum congestion and more reliable connections. Most notably, the 6GHz frequency band has been added to the already unlicensed spectrum in the 2.4 and 5GHz ranges. This additional band offers more bandwidth with more available channels to improve data speed rates, while preserving coverage and reducing spectrum congestion in high density environments.

Barcelona-based Fractus Antennas designs, manufactures and commercialises miniature, off-the-shelf antennas for IoT, mobile connectivity and short-range wireless devices. Founded as an independent antenna product business in 2015, Fractus Antennas was born out of the main Fractus operation and combines an R&D team with proven manufacturing capabilities and scale to bring to market antenna products to meet the mobile and wireless connectivity needs of OEMs.
