Sustainable energy visionary Frank Phuan has invested in Singapore-based Sigfox owner UnaBiz and joined its board of directors.

Phuan is co-founder of Sunseap Group, one of south-east Asia’s largest clean energy technology providers. The investment forms part of UnaBiz’s pre-series C funding round. The partnership aims to amplify UnaBiz’s impact on global ESG initiatives.

This development comes on the heels of UnaBiz closing the first tranche of its pre-series C funding round, backed by Japan-based investors KDDI Global Innovation Fund 3 and Kyocera Communications System, in August this year.

Over the past two years, UnaBiz has achieved more than tenfold growth in recurring revenue, and added over five million devices to the global 0G network, powered by Sigfox 0G technology. UnaBiz says this makes it the largest unlicensed LPWAN globally, with over 14 million connected devices.

Phuan brings a wealth of expertise in renewable energy and sustainability to UnaBiz, both as an investor and board member. As co-founder of Sunseap Group and co-chair of the Sustainability Alliance of multiple trade and associations in Singapore, he has been at the forefront of driving solar energy adoption and sustainable development across the region.

Under his leadership, Sunseap expanded its presence across multiple markets, delivering innovative renewable energy projects and playing a pivotal role in shaping the green energy landscape.
