Combining technology from Taiwanese firms DFI and Innodisk is providing dual remote management for IoT devices that is better than the sum of its parts.

The exponential growth of IoT devices is bringing difficulties in effectively managing and monitoring large numbers of connected devices that may be hard to access in widely scattered remote locations.

To answer this, industrial storage company Innodisk has combined its expertise with embedded technology specialist DFI to bring DFI’s RemoGuard remote management system to its customers. DFI joins Innodisk’s network of partners who incorporate its technology to provide complete storage based around Innodisk’s IoT products.

Thanks to the integration of Innodisk’s iCap and InnoAge dual-band management technologies with DFI’s hardware design, RemoGuard can reduce maintenance staffing costs and response times and prevent service downtime with features such as real-time monitoring and one-button recovery.

“Created in collaboration with Innodisk, a leader in the industrial solid-state drive market, DFI has launched RemoGuard to provide not only high-performance embedded solutions but also advanced remote management,” said Steven Tsai, president of DFI. “This add-on service helps customers to get through this difficult period and lets us look into a prospective future of cooperation.”

The iCap cloud management platform provides easy access to monitor and control local and remote devices. This management product detects and collects data, sends reports, and alerts operators if the device crashes or experiences other problems.

Solid-state drives (SSDs) are increasingly dominant in responsive enterprise storage. Their blend of speed, low power consumption, small size and low maintenance lets users put SSDs almost anywhere. The InnoAge SSD provides out-of-band management-enabled flash storage, equipped with a Microsoft Azure Sphere. It enables multifunctional management, smart data analysis and firmware updates, data security and remote control through the cloud.

Innodisk is a service-driven provider of flash memory, DRAM modules and embedded peripheral products for industrial and enterprise applications.
