Taiwanese embedded computing company Advantech has announced that 12 of its products will incorporate the series-two Intel Core Ultra processor for edge computing and IoT applications.

These include industrial motherboards, PICMG 1.3 full-size single board computers (SBCs), computers-on-module, server motherboards, compact IPCs, modular IPCs, and AMRs and other robots.

This integration should boost AI efficiency and computing performance, reduce development time, and address power and thermal difficulties, focusing on high-performance computing with low power consumption.

These products are suitable for various applications, including machine automation, machine vision, medical imaging, in-vitro diagnostics, automated optical inspection, smart warehouses, self-service kiosks, and edge AI.

Advantech has set its 2025 vision to become a leader in edge computing and edge AI. The long-term partnership with Intel allows it to integrate the latest technologies rapidly, delivering innovations that accelerate edge AI application development.

As an Intel partner for more than ten years, Advantech has collaborated closely with the tech giant to accelerate product launches. With the series-two Intel Core Ultra processor integrated across 12 products spanning multiple business groups, Advantech believes it is positioned to lead the market in edge computing and edge AI.

Advantech products featuring the processors are scheduled to launch starting in the second quarter of this year. The desktop range will feature up to 24 CPU cores, delivering up to 36 total platform TOPS, while the mobile range will offer up to 16 CPU cores, providing up to 99 total platform TOPS. Both product lines are equipped with a neural processing unit (NPU). They are designed to support diverse inferencing workloads and elevate AI acceleration.

Advantech and Intel plan to continue collaborating on industrial IoT innovations and edge computing.
