At this week’s Computex show in Taipei, Qualcomm and Advantech announced a collaboration to advance AI-driven IoT applications.

The aim is deeper integration of Qualcomm technologies into Advantech’s edge computing and edge AI platforms.

Qualcomm introduced its Dragonwing portfolio earlier this year, delivering AI performance and low latency at the edge to unlock possibilities for scalable industrial innovation. As part of the collaboration, Advantech has adopted Dragonwing technology across diverse hardware form factors and product lines, including those powered by the Dragonwing QCS6490 processor for embedded modules, smart panels and AI cameras, as well as the Dragonwing IQ8 and IQ9 platforms for edge AI systems and robotic controllers.

Advantech plans to use these platforms to enable scalable, high-performance robotics, smart manufacturing, medical, retail and urban infrastructure.

To foster developer innovation, Qualcomm is collaborating with Taiwanese firm Advantech to help it deliver a developer-oriented tool chain for edge AI development and deployment. Leveraging Advantech’s expertise in embedded markets, the companies are using Qualcomm’s enablement platforms, including Edge Impulse and Foundries.io, and integrating Advantech’s EdgeAI SDK to provide no-code or low-code model training tools and a rich model zoo. This helps developers accelerate time to market and efficiently scale the intelligent edge.

“We are excited to deepen our collaboration with Advantech, a leader in the IoT and embedded computing markets,” said Nakul Duggal from Qualcomm. “By integrating Qualcomm’s leading-edge AI and connectivity technologies with Advantech’s robust edge computing platforms, we are poised to drive significant advancements in edge AI innovation. This collaboration will empower industries to harness the full potential of intelligent, autonomous systems, accelerating the adoption of next-generation AI applications across diverse sectors.”

Miller Chang, president of Advantech’s embedded sector, added: “We’re proud to expand our collaboration with Qualcomm. Together, we’re enabling the scalable, intelligent edge through the Dragonwing platform and Advantech’s EdgeAI SDK, accelerating next-generation AI adoption across industries.”

This collaboration reflects a shared vision between Advantech (www.advantech.com) and Qualcomm (www.qualcomm.com) to drive the future of edge intelligence, where AI, connectivity and scalable ecosystems converge to empower industries, accelerate innovation, and unlock the full potential of intelligent, autonomous systems at the edge.

Qualcomm and UAE telco e& (eand.com), formerly known as Etisalat, are working together to drive technological development and commercialisation across a broad range of connectivity, 5G and edge AI technologies to accelerate the digital transformation for the government, enterprise and industrial sectors.
