2J Antennas, a manufacturer of external antennas for connected devices, has joined the IoT M2M Council (IMC), the world’s largest trade association for the IoT sector, to build awareness for its expanded portfolio of hardware and design products and services.
Last month, the company was united with a provider of internal antennas – Antenova – under the joint ownership of DiscoverIE; the joint entity will share testing and design facilities in the USA, UK, Taiwan and Slovakia.
Roughly two thirds of the IMC’s 28,000 rank-and-file adopter members are engaged in product design and manufacturing on some level.
“We are expanding our reach, products and services, and now being part of DiscoverIE group provides us with the support to accelerated growth,” said Ruben Cuadras, managing director of 2J Antennas (www.2j-antennas.com) in the USA, who will represent the company on the IMC board. “We look at the IMC as an excellent go-to-market platform to build awareness for this broader portfolio.”
That expanded line of products and services now includes more than 1000 internal and external antennas, and a new antenna lab in Arizona, along with the company’s European manufacturing facilities, which are certified for automotive applications, among other target markets. The company will use IMC outreach platforms, including live and online events, push-content channels, and its library of IoT content such as use-cases, white papers, e-books and video.
“We welcome 2J to our IMC board of governors,” said Sam Colley, IMC chairman and a product strategist at Giesecke + Devrient, a provider of connectivity, SIM and security technology. “They add another level of diversity to our existing board that only enhances the value of the IMC to its members, A large portion of our adopter membership are engaged in product design and manufacturing of connected devices, and therefore 2J’s knowledge and experience will serve to ensure that our adopters have extended access to yet another element within the IoT ecosystem.”
The IMC (www.iotm2mcouncil.org) is the largest trade group dedicated to the global IoT and M2M sector, with over 28,000 IoT adopters as members. Board companies include 1NCE, 2J Antennas, A1 Digital, Aeris, Airgain, Blues, Digi International, eSat Global, Eseye, Fibocom, FloLive, Friendly Technologies, Giesecke+Devrient, Globalstar, Ground Control, Gurtam, Hologram, iBasis, Ignion, IoT Launch, Keyfactor, KORE, KYOCERA AVX, Losant, MultiTech, OQ Technology, Pelion, Printed Energy, Quectel, Somos, Tata Communications, Telit Cinterion and Vodafone.
