German tier-one IoT carrier 1NCE is expanding its NB-IoT offering in Europe.

In addition to Germany and Austria, 1NCE’s IoT flat rate now also provides NB-IoT coverage in the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Italy and the UK. With this and NB-IoT network access in mainland China, the firm supports the most relevant IoT core markets in Europe and Asia.

Thanks to the extended NB-IoT coverage, cross-border deployment of IoT is now easier. Be it for metering applications, asset tracking in logistics or sensors in waste management, smart farming or building automation, wherever devices need to transmit data independently and regularly without an external power-source on consumption, position, movement, fill level or temperature, NB-IoT is suitable thanks to its energy efficiency and optimised range and penetration.

“NB-IoT is a core technology for the internet of things,” said Alexander Sator, CEO of 1NCE. “The fact that we now also support NB-IoT across countries allows our customers to take full advantage of the benefits of NB-IoT technology combined with the simplicity of our offering.”

Markus Bullinger, business development manager at Arrow Electronics, a provider of products and services for commercial users of electronic components, added: “We see a strongly growing demand for European-wide IoT in logistics projects with our integration partners in the field of operational technologies. We can address this now perfectly with 1NCE and from our partners such as Box ID.”

Box ID is a German based provider of tracking for monitoring industrial supply chains. Its managing director Wolfgang Vogl said: “For us, this expansion comes just at the right time. We hardly have a use case that only takes place within national borders. With the new cross-country offer, we can now connect very easily with 1NCE via NB-IoT or LTE-M and reach the most important markets in Europe.”

With the 1NCE management platform, IoT developers and providers get value-added services at no extra cost, for example the Data Broker, which is designed for energy sensitive IoT applications. It lets users translate communication into lean transport protocols such as UDP or CoAP that can be adapted into cloud platforms such as AWS. This increases the battery life of IoT devices.

For a one-time fee of €10, IoT devices can communicate via cellular networks for ten years, and thus mostly throughout their entire life cycle. Included in the tariff are 500Mbyte data volume and 250 SMS, available at a single price in more than 100 countries.

The multimode SIM card developed by 1NCE enables a smooth transition between different communication standards such as 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE-M and NB-IoT. There are no additional costs for roaming or set-up. This allows for easy and economical implementation of connectivity into smart services.

Businesses can test 1NCE for free exclusively in AWS Marketplace. With 1NCE For All, users can order up to 100 free SIM cards with 12 months of connectivity. The offer includes 50Mbyte of data volume and coverage in Europe, USA, Russia and China. There is no automatic contract renewal after the 12 months.

The 1NCE IoT Flat Rate can be ordered via the 1NCE online shop or the AWS Marketplace. The SIM cards are delivered already activated within a few working days. To date, 1NCE has more than 4000 customers with five million active connections worldwide.

1NCE is a worldwide IoT network carrier offering connectivity services based on an IoT flat rate. It cooperates with Deutsche Telekom and its roaming partners as well as China Telecom Global.
