Indian urban mobility firm Zoomcar is partnering CARS24, a platform for used car transactions in India. The two companies aim to bring industry-grade vehicle inspection and tracking standards to the self-drive car-sharing space.
As part of this collaboration, CARS24 will conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) and install GPS tracking devices on newly on-boarded host vehicles. This will ensure greater transparency, safety, and user satisfaction.
The pilot will initially cover host vehicles in Delhi, with the potential to expand based on results.
CARS24 will perform quality checks covering mechanical, electrical, and safety systems including brakes, engine condition, lighting, tyre health, and overall road-worthiness. Vehicles that meet the standards will be marked as ‘verified’ on the platform.
Through the partnership, Zoomcar will equip its vehicles with advanced GPS tracking devices. These devices will enable real-time tracking in the event of unauthorised use and allow for continuous monitoring of driver behaviour.
“At Zoomcar, enhancing the guest experience is a constant priority,” said Anirudh Lamba, Head – Brand & Partnerships at Zoomcar. “This partnership allows us to introduce an added layer of safety, accountability, and transparency, ensuring every vehicle meets a higher standard before it goes live on our platform.”
Gajendra Jangid, Co-Founder and CMO at CARS24, said, “We’ve inspected over a million cars across India, and one thing is clear, trust in used vehicles is built on transparency and data. The self-drive rental space has grown rapidly, but quality standards haven’t kept pace.” He further added, “Through this partnership with Zoomcar, we are bringing the same inspection rigour that powers India’s used car ecosystem to a new category, giving hosts more control, and guests more confidence.”
