Chinese lidar company RoboSense has launched China’s first automotive-grade solid-state LiDAR production line. Mass production and delivery of automotive-grade lidar will begin in the second quarter of this year.
Shanghai-base software company Inceptio has released a self-driving system called Xuanyuan equipped with RoboSense solid-state LiDAR. This self driving system includes ULRS (ultra-long-range sensing), ARC (adaptive robust control) and FEAD (fuel-efficient autonomous driving) algorithms. The ULRS algorithm can analyse lidar data to sense long distance objects up to 1,000 meters away with a margin of error of below 5%.
In June 2019, Inceptio began work with Dongfeng Trucks and SINOTRUK to develop L3 autonomous heavy-duty trucks equipped with the Xuanyuan self driving system and RoboSense lidar. The companies have formed a partnership to mass-produce the L3 heavy-duty freight truck equipped with the Xuanyuan system to be launched by the end of 2021.
