Micromobility operator Tier-Dott will operate under the single Dott brand name from now on.
The European shared micromobility provider will rebrand all Tier vehicles in the upcoming weeks with the Dott logo and users will be redirected to the Dott app. Users will be able to access a fleet of 250,000 electric scooters and e-bikes in 427 cities across Europe and the Middle East within one app.
Behind the scenes, Tier and Dott hardware, technology and operations will support the service and the cities.
This follows the merger of Tier and Dott earlier this year (www.iotm2mcouncil.org/iot-library/news/connected-transportation-news/micromobility-firms-tier-and-dott-merge).
To simplify the user experience and to make the service of both companies available for all users, Tier-Dott decided to operate under a single mobile app, service and brand. The teams are combining the technology, hardware and operations of Tier and Dott to serve all users and cities. After tests in Spain, Germany and France, the company has decided to pursue this strategy, and all cities will be migrated by early 2025.
With ten million active users in 2023 and a fleet of 250,000 vehicles, Tier-Dott is one of the largest shared micromobility operators in Europe and the Middle East. Since the launch of Tier and Dott in 2018, users have completed 380 million trips.
Tier-Dott is amplifying public transportation and helping cities achieve their green mobility objectives. The company’s mission is to change mobility for good, with a shared micromobility service that is safe, reliable, accessible and sustainable.
In the cities where Tier is active, the team is working on a smooth transition for all users and cities. This includes close collaboration with cities where Tier is integrated in the local mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) systems. Behind the scenes, local operations and contact persons remain the same.
“We are thrilled to announce that all Tier and Dott vehicles will be available in one app: Dott,” said Henri Moissinac, CEO of Tier-Dott. “This will enable tens of million users to ride with us in 427 cities in an efficient and safe way. We’re here to change mobility for good, together with the cities, their citizens and stakeholders, and complement the public transport systems at a local level and in a sustainable way.”
Tier users are being contacted via email and through their app with all the relevant information to ensure an easy transition to the Dott app. Switching to Dott is done in a few steps: download the Dott app on the phone, create an account and add payment details. Users with the latest version of the Tier application can just click on the link to download Dott and update their information to start riding within a minute. In the Dott app, users will find various passes making it more affordable and convenient to use shared micromobility.
All Tier vehicles will also be rebranded by the local teams, with blue stickers reflecting the transition to the new Dott brand (www.ridedott.com). All operational work, such as battery changes, vehicle reworking or rebalancing in the city, will be carried out by the joint teams, combining the expertise and technological resources of both companies.
