Chinese telecoms firm ZTE has implemented private 5G-based smart factory technologies at Charoen Pokphand Foods, a major Thai food and foodstuffs manufacturing conglomerate. ZTE implemented the 5G network together with Thai telecom company True Corporation, with the solution implemented via 5G-in-a-box at CPF’s factory.
The project uses True’s spectrum for dedicated use and employs network slicing technology to ensure Quality of Service and enterprise security. To enhance the cost-effectiveness of 5G deployment, the project chose ZTE’s iMacro equipment as cost effective and suitable for the food factory environment.
Through the deployment of the 5G-in-a-box solution, an average latency of 10 ms has been achieved. The deployment enables traffic differentiation and precise control based on various service types, ensuring efficient data transfer. The installation has a downstream transmission rate of 882 Mbps and the reliability of the equipment has been enhanced to 99.99%.
