Industrial cybersecurity provider OPSWAT has opened a new production facility in Tampa, Florida to manufacture its hardware domestically.

The move is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen supply chain integrity and ensure compliance with US and international security standards. By manufacturing in-house, OPSWAT aims to reduce risks associated with offshore production, including supply chain disruptions, quality challenges, and intellectual property theft.

According to a statement from the company, manufacturing hardware domestically will enable it to maintain greater control over product development and testing, as well as accelerate response times to emerging cybersecurity threats. The new facility is expected to meet increasing global demand for trusted cybersecurity solutions in sectors such as manufacturing and energy.

OPSWAT’s decision to manufacture domestically follows a trend by some companies to prioritise supply chain resilience and security. The company has stated that it aims to “reinforce its commitment to quality, innovation, compliance, and supply chain integrity” through this move.
