Hitachi is developing a manufacturing process improvement solution to find optimal manufacturing processes. Together with subsidiary Hitachi High-Tech, the companies are enhancing their informatics businesses to focus on digital transformation in industrial fields.

The new solution is aimed at optimising the scale-up phase of material development for large-scale manufacturing. The solution aims to replace current trial and error in designing a manufacturing process to maximise material properties.

Employing a proprietary database containing manufacturing process information from various manufacturing areas as well as RAG-based AI, Hitachi can propose efficient manufacturing processes and solutions. The company also plans to offer a system that allows customers to use informatics to find out the optimal values for various parameters.

The new solution will be provided by Hitachi High-Tech after conducting a proof of concept starting in April 2025. The proof of concept will include customers in the semiconductor, battery, and materials manufacturing sectors.

Hitachi and Hitachi High-Tech will continue to develop the company’s Lumada solutions that combine the digital and product technologies and expertise of both companies.
