Chennai-based AvironiX Drones has introduced the AviSpray-10c, a backpack-sized agricultural drone designed to simplify crop spraying in India. The drone, launched at an event in Chennai, is 53% smaller than conventional drones used in the market.

The AviSpray-10c features advanced performance and safety systems, including terrain-following radar, collision avoidance systems, and multiple nozzle configurations. The drone has been field-tested across over 6,000 acres of Indian farmland, with operations on demanding crops such as sugarcane and paddy.

“The AviSpray-10c has been engineered specifically for India’s environmental and agricultural realities,” said Dr. Dinesh Manoharan, Chief Technology Officer at AvironiX. “Every subsystem has been field-validated to deliver endurance, precision, and safety without compromise.”

The AviSpray-10c offers several key advantages, including reduced size, lower investment costs, improved profitability for pilots and agri-entrepreneurs, and a 60% improvement in coverage per battery charge.

AvironiX has also announced a customer success-first operating model, supported by a growing national network of AvironiX AgriDrone Experts. These trained local pilots will provide structured pilot training, annual maintenance contracts, and skill enhancement to ensure higher uptime, lower repair costs, and consistent earning potential for pilots and farmers.

The company’s future roadmap includes real-time data-driven agricultural spraying powered by a proprietary microscopic MEMS plant-sensing technology being developed in collaboration with its Australian partner, Magic Wavelength.
