Chinese technology conglomerate Tencent is working with connected healthcare company Fangzhou to accelerate AI-driven healthcare by integrating the DeepSeek open-source AI model.
Following Fangzhou’s local deployment of the DeepSeek’s open-source large language model in February, the partnership leverages Tencent Cloud’s infrastructure to help power Fangzhou’s upgraded AI Agent 2.0 platform.
The AI Agent 2.0 leverages DeepSeek’s analytical capabilities and Tencent’s Hunyuan model to enhance the efficiency of pharmaceutical logistics and online healthcare services. Xie Fangmin, CEO of Fangzhou, emphasised the initiative’s goal to “deliver smarter, more efficient options for millions of users”.
DeepSeek’s rapid adoption stems from its high performance, cost efficiency and robust security. Its mixture-of-experts (MoE) architecture ensures scalable efficiency, while private deployment ensures compliance with data privacy regulations since user data are not transmitted to third parties.
As a pioneer in internet healthcare, Fangzhou’s proprietary AI platform, designed for rapid local deployment of multiple large language models, quickly integrated DeepSeek’s models. Support from Tencent Cloud’s infrastructure has also allowed Fangzhou to enhance its platform’s capabilities to serve patients and healthcare providers.
The deployment of AI Agent 2.0 represents a milestone in Fangzhou’s partnership with Tencent Health and Tencent Cloud (www.tencent.com). The upgraded system focuses on two core scenarios: patient services and physician workflows, and developing novel functionality and data-driven enhancements.
Fangzhou (investors.jianke.com) is an online chronic disease management platform, serving 49.2 million registered users and 223,000 physicians. The company specialises in delivering tailored medical care and precision medicine offerings.
Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research (DeepSeek, www.deepseek.com) is a Chinese AI firm specialising in large language models. Founded in July 2023 and backed by hedge fund High-Flyer, DeepSeek launched its flagship DeepSeek-R1 model and chatbot in January 2025.
