California-based ring maker Qalo is continuing its expansion into wearable tech with the launch of Qrnt Slim, a light smart ring that tracks health, recovery and menstrual cycle without a subscription.

Available in gold and silver finishes, Qrnt (pronounced current) Slim brings biometric precision to a durable, comfortable smart ring that can be worn at the gym, at home or on the go.

With tracking for heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen, skin temperature, sleep, stress and steps, it offers an alternative to bulky wearables without monthly fees or complicated setup.

The ring is said to be the lightest on the market and 25% slimmer than competitors.

“We designed Qrnt Slim for the everyday athlete, people who want accurate data, intuitive insights and optimal security” said Jake Brewer, president of Qalo. “And we built it without the gatekeeping of high price tags or subscriptions.”

With its latest update, it introduces period prediction and a cycle overview feature, helping women to train, recover and rest in sync with their natural rhythms. The algorithm uses biometric data such as heart rate and skin temperature – not manual logging – to identify key phases of the menstrual cycle and offer smart, subtle guidance for energy, performance and recovery throughout the month.

A core pillar of Qalo’s innovation is data security.

“At Qalo, your data are yours,” said Jake Curreri, Qalo’s chief technology officer. “We safeguard it with advanced security including 24/7 monitoring, strict access controls, redundant systems and end-to-end encryption inside our secure US data centre. And because our app was built entirely in-house by Qalo in the USA, you always know exactly who is protecting your most personal information.”

It is available at qalo.com/pages/qrnt-slim-lp for $200.

Based in the USA, Qalo (qalo.com) develops all its technology in-house, ensuring security, transparency and reliability.
