Geely-owned DreamSmart Group through its Meizu smartphone brand has launched a smart ring that it says revolutionises wearable health technology.

Wearing the StarV Ring2 lets users track their sleep data and assess sleep quality, monitor heart rate and exercise duration, and empowers them to manage health and stress.

It has an IP68 rating of water resistance, which means it can be worn everywhere, even while swimming.

Powered by Flyme OS, users can also control their phone or glasses with the ring.

At the launch event, Meizu also introduced the StarV View AR glasses, which create the impression of a 480cm 120Hz display with high definition of 85mm/LP and ten-level brightness adjustment, creating cinematic viewing for users. However, they weigh only 74g and are easy to take anywhere. They also support 0-600 dioptre adjustment and suit people with myopia. The glasses are like a private theatre in the pocket.

The event also launched five smartphones – the Mblu 22, Mblu 22 Pro, Note 22, Note 22 5G and Note 22 Pro 5G.

These smartphones and wearables will first be available in Russia, Spain, Malaysia and Vietnam, and will be available in more than 30 countries and regions, including Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East, Central Asia and Europe.

“Our all-in AI strategy bridges hardware, software and services to create a seamless smart life,” said Cheng Li, Meizu’s CMO. “We will continue to develop new products to bring consumers more cost-effective and personalised electronic products according to the habits of consumers in different countries and regions.”

Meizu (www.meizu.com) is the smartphone brand of China’s DreamSmart Group (www.dreamsmart.com), which carries AI eco-products in three product areas, which are smartphones, XR and smart cars.
