Taiwanese firm Advantech has announced a medical-grade computer aimed at providing AI at the edge for hospital applications and healthcare environments.
The USM-501 edge AI platform uses the Nvidia RTX A6000 graphics card and Nvidia’s AI tools and frameworks such as Rapids, Tensor RT and Triton Inference Server. The two video capture cards and one Nvidia graphics card can capture large video data while executing real-time AI algorithms and analysis.
“When you have a partner like Nvidia, who is constantly raising the bar and reshaping the industry with computing and AI innovations, it further validates the refined synergy that helped design the solution,” said Clay Fazio, Advantech associate vice president in the USA. “Together, our premium medical grade computers aimed at healthcare AI applications can help shorten time to market and accelerate medical care.”
The computer uses a ninth-generation Intel Core i7, i5 or i3 processor and four PCIe slots that support the integration of graphics and data capture cards for video recording and analysis. Its adaptable front cover improves time to market by supporting easy logo and colour customisation, an additional control button, LCD panel and/or an integrated DVDRW.
In addition, it is medical safety standard certified (IEC-60601-1-2, edition four) and deployable in intelligent operating rooms, CT/MRI workstations, hospital edge computers or picture archiving and communication systems. It can use Windows 10 or Linux to deliver an open-source environment that eases software development.
The USM-501 is compliant with CE, FCC and IEC-60601-1-2 regulations for medical equipment.
The four PCIe expansion slots are for integrating graphics cards, data capture cards, LAN and other peripherals. The capabilities enable easy, rapid platform development and expansion conformable to application requirements. Indeed, using a data capture card and a graphics card helps it support the computer-assisted diagnosis of endoscopic images. Moreover, a medical-grade 500W power supply can support any add-on card.
An adaptable front cover supports customisation with specific logos, colours and/or additional buttons for enhanced functionality and brand awareness.
