IMC Conference Panels
Oct 8, 11 am CST – Securing IoT Devices: by Design or by Default
Moderator: Ellen Boehm, SVP, IoT Strategy & Operations, Keyfactor
Panelists:
- Josh Heller, Product Security Chair, Digi International
- Syed Zaeem Hosain, Founder & Evangelist, Aeris Communications
- Marc Plante, Director, Business Development, SOMOS
- Fred Yentz, CEO & Co-Founder, Tartabit, LLC
Security for connected devices has never been more important – the number of mission-critical breaches is at an all-time high and increasing exponentially, and new regulations threaten to hold device makers accountable as never before. The IoT M2M Council (IMC) is developing practical guidelines for product designers to consider when deploying connected devices in the field, and this panel will feature senior leadership from the IMC task force on security. The panel will explore the current IoT security landscape, including matching the correct standards to applications, vetting bills-of-materials (BoM) to ensure their relevance for the entire device lifecycle, and the importance of considering the network and platform layers of the stack, as well as the analysis tools and methods for that are most pertinent right now
Oct 10, 11 am CST – Convergence: Satellite, 5G, Low-Power Connectivity Combine for IoT
Moderator: Keith Kreisher, Executive Director, IoT M2M Council
Panelists:
- Martin Jefferson, Commercial IoT Data Services Manager, Globalstar
- Cyril Lebel, VP IoT Sales, Vodafone Business
- Carmen Redondo, Director Global Marketing Antennas, Kyocera AVX
Convergence in connectivity – including combinations of 5G, satellite technology, and low-power solutions – is expanding applications for IoT embedded systems. The ability to provide these technologies in a single device unlocks unprecedented possibilities for seamless, ubiquitous connectivity in smart cities, industrial automation, and beyond. This panel will delve into the synergies this convergence delivers and its impact on the future of IoT ecosystems.
