DHL launches digital freight platform in Poland
November 9, 2017
DHL has made its Saloodo digital freight platform available to carriers in Poland. The start-up founded in 2016 by DHL presented its portfolio at this week’s TransPoland Translogistica trade fair in Warsaw.
Saloodo provides carriers with international first-hand transport orders from more than 9000 shippers, to optimise the capacities of their vehicles. However, unlike classic freight exchange platforms, Saloodo is a digital end-to-end logistics platform that is said to simplify the commissioning and handling of transports, thus increasing the efficiency of the entire transport process.
With Saloodo, transport companies get digital logistics with functions that make daily working life more efficient and easier. The dynamic transport pricing calculator, based on real-time data and algorithms, helps freight forwarders make their transport offers competitive, for example.
The drivers will be informed immediately via the Saloodo driver app about pick-ups and receive all necessary information about upcoming tours. Also, delivery notes, pallet receipts, invoices and possible damage to the load can be documented directly in the app.
The entire transport handling is digitally mapped and controlled, including consignment tracking, freight document management, invoicing and payment. Saloodo is a contract and contact partner that lets carriers benefit from short payment terms and payments within 14 days.
On the opening day of the show, Saloodo demonstrated in the discussion forum digital ways for the transport business to improve. Forwarders could register for the freight platform directly on the stand.
Saloodo is free of charge for transport companies and is also available in the Polish language.
