Telit-owned ILS Technology and Jasper Wireless are to combine their platform expertise with the aim of supporting mobile operators addressing the Internet of Things (IoT) opportunity.

The collaboration will bring together Jasper’s (Mountain View, CA, USA) cloud-based platform and the deviceWISE application enablement platform developed by ILS (Boca Raton, FL, USA).

“Having the right software and systems to capitalize on [IoT] opportunities is critical,” said Ken Laversin, the global vice president of sales for Jasper. “Today more than 1,000 companies manage millions of connected products and devices on the Jasper Platform and we’re delighted to be deepening our relationship with Telit [London, UK] and ILS Technology as part of our commitment to enabling enterprises to launch, manage and monetize successful IoT service businesses.”

The companies said their technologies would help operators to reduce risk, time to market, complexity and the cost of commercializing IoT solutions for enterprise customers.

The platforms can be configured to meet the needs of enterprises across various industries, supporting services such as remote monitoring, industrial automation, asset tracking and field service operations management.

“We are pleased to expand our long-standing technical relationship with Jasper by working together on a compelling commercial go-to-market solution for MNOs,” said Fred Yentz, the president and chief executive of ILS. “Together we remove all the technical risks and complexity and make it easy for operators to get started with turnkey IoT services.

Jasper’s platform is already used by a number of leading mobile operators around the world for the management of M2M services.
ILS Technology, meanwhile, says its deviceWISE service can be used for cloud connectivity and integration across any remote device, any network and any enterprise application in the back office.

In September 2013, module maker Telit agreed a takeover of ILS, saying the acquisition would expand the reach of its m2mAIR managed services business into the realm of internet services, where it claims to be seeing demand for more integrated solutions.
