IoT Hasn't Had Scale - But Will It Soon?
The IoT sector has long complained that the industyr hasn't scaled quickly enough -- the average size of embedded technology deployments hasn't risen much in recent years. But new data gathered directly from IoT buyers by the IoT M2M Council suggests that this may be changing -- among other things, a "lack of business models" is no longer cited as a major hurdle to procurement, and implementation cycles appear to be quickening.

Connectivity, cars, and the road to monetisation
Back in April, the automotive industry found itself divided over prospective plans to standardise connectivity for cars. The European Commission proposed plans for a Wi-Fi-based standard, which was backed by automotive manufacturers like Renault and Toyota. Others, such as Daimler and Ford, as well as telecoms players like Ericsson, Samsung and Deutsche Telekom, favoured the adoption of 5G to support the connected car ecosystem.
