Orange, NTT 5G, IoT research framework



Orange and NTT have signed an R&D framework agreement to share research on IoT, AI, 5G, and cybersecurity. The agreement is up to 2022. NTT will exploit the research findings in the Asia Pacific region, with Orange doing likewise in Europe and Africa

Arm, Vodafone look to simplify IoT



Arm and Vodafone have agreed to work to reduce the complexity and costs faced by organisations implementing IoT solutions. The new agreement expands on the companies’ collaboration around integrated SIM (iSIM) technology. The new agreement combines iSIM, IoT software and network services with the aim of reducing complexity and enabling open, remote provisioning of IoT devices
 
Microsoft upgrades HoloLens for industrial AR



Microsoft has launched a new version of its augmented reality headset, the HoloLens. The company has boosted the headset's field of view and its resolution, jumping from 720p to 2K per eye. The $3000 headset is aimed at industrial, business and infrastructure applications

Singapore telecom operator Singtel is partnering with China Mobile on narrowband business IoT connectivity, and has signed a deal with Microsoft to launch an AI-powered IoT network over the Azure cloud platform

AT&T and Vodafone Business are collaborating on boosting IoT adoption in the car industry.
