General Statement
The privacy policy of the IoT M2M Council (IMC, originally the “International M2M
Council”) is applicable to all IMC Members and non-members that use this website,
access the IMC’s push-content services, or register for IMC online events. The IMC is
committed to maintaining the security and privacy of any/all individuals that it interacts
with. The association does not share any information from its Membership with non-
members in any way. The IMC does, however, share such information among IMC
Member companies and individuals. The group encourages all of its Members to take
every opportunity to communicate with fellow IMC Members in keeping with its mission
to educate and inform.
Data Collected, Usage
The IMC collects the following types of data from its Members and others with whom it
interacts, for the purposes described below…
- Contact information: which includes individual names, company names, job titles,
emails, phone numbers. This information is used to provide push-content services or
online events to those that have requested those services. In some cases, the IMC will
use this information to distribute content provided by Member companies or partners to those that have requested such content, or to notify about association business, such as upcoming events. - Demographic Information: such as “industry role”, or “size of company”, or “products
specified”, or “vertical markets served”. This information is aggregated and shared
among IMC Member companies and individuals as reports. It is never combined with
the Contact Information described above, nor subsequently shared as such. - Website Usage Information: this data is in the form of Internet Protocol addresses
belonging to users of this website, collected via cookie, and can be used to improve the
site itself. It is never combined with the Contact Information described above, nor

Opt-Out, Data Curation, Third-Party Websites
All push-content distributed by the IMC provides users the opportunity to “opt-out” of
receiving that information. Additionally, members that wish to discontinue contact with
the IMC can simply request that they be removed from Membership rolls (or other lists)
at the email provided below. The IMC expunges all such data. Industry-standard
technology is used to protect all active IMC data, however, no data transmitted over the
Internet can be completely secure in every possible circumstance. The IMC does not
guarantee the security of any information transmitted online. Likewise, IMC online
content usually contains links to third-party websites, and the IMC does not guarantee
the security provided by those websites. Users that access this website, IMC push-
content services, IMC online events, and/or links to third-party websites do so at their
own risk.
