Joel Young, Sr. Vice President & CTO, IMC Board Chairman, Digi

Joel Young has been with Digi International since 2000, and for more than ten years at the company as Sr. Vice President and CTO. Prior to joining Digi, Mr. Young served as a Vice President for Transcrypt International, a provider of encryption products, in various engineering, sales and marketing positions. He has also held various engineering and management positions at AT&T and AT&T Bell Laboratories. He holds degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and holds 16 patents in various telecommunications and machine connectivity technologies.

Syed Zaeem Hosain, CTO, Aeris Communications

Mr. Hosain joined Aeris in 1996 as a member of the founding executive team, and as CTO is responsible for the company’s networks, development programs and technology strategy. With over thirty-five years experience in the semiconductor, computer and telecommunications industries, and prior to joining Aeris, he has held senior engineering/management positions at Analog Devices, Cypress Semiconductor, CAD National and ESS Technology. Mr. Hosain is Chairman of the International Forum on ANSI-41 Standards Technology (IFAST), Chairman of the Global M2M Realization Forum (GM2MRF), and is on the Board of the Mobility CDMA Development Group (MDG, formerly CDMA Development Group).

Volkhard Bregulla, Vice President Global Industries Manufacturing & Distribution, HPE

Volkhard Bregulla, VP Global Industries Manufacturing & Distribution, HPE
Volkhard Bregulla leads HPE's Global Industries Manufacturing and Distribution (M&D) for Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Mr. Bregulla and his organisation are responsible for addressing and solving business and technology issues and as a result delivering significant business outcome for HPE's clients in the M&D Industry. The responsibility includes the entire HPE portfolio of technology products, services as well as business solutions.
In his current role, he is responsible for the business relationship and industry specific content HPE develops, sell and delivers as solutions together with a select set of strategic partners and channel organizations to enable the New Style of IT and Business in the Digital economy.
Since joining Hewlett Packard in 1985 from Siemens AG, Volkhard Bregulla has held a series of executive management positions in regional and global business units, working for more than a decade out of the US West and East Coast as well as the Networking Division in France and has served on the Board of several of HP's equity investments and as Chairman of the Board of a HP subsidiary. Mr. Bregulla has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Business Master's Degree in Finance and Quantitative Methods. In his spare time he enjoys the family life and his passion for motor biking, rock climbing and skiing.

Landon Garner, Chief Marketing Officer, Ingenu

As chief marketing officer, Landon Garner oversees the development and execution of all brand and marketing strategy. Prior to joining Ingenu, Mr. Garner served as director of marketing for RacoWireless, a leading enabler of cellular M2M connectivity solutions – helping guide the company through two major capital events, closing with the company’s final exit in late 2014. Mr. Garner also worked in a similar role for KORE, following its acquisition of RacoWireless. Earlier in his career, he worked for Nu Skin, a leading personal care product company, as part of their global product marketing team.

Rose Schooler, VP, IoT Solutions Group, GM, Strategy and Technology Office (STO), Intel

Rose Schooler is vice president of the Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions Group and General Manager of Things Strategy and Technology Office at Intel Corporation. She is responsible for managing the IoT strategy across all of Intel's assets, including development of strategic business objectives, an end-to-end implementation strategy, driving external industry and partner leadership, and technical alignment to deliver foundational IoT technologies and solutions. Schooler was formerly a member of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions board and is currently on the board of NCWIT.

Sara Brown, Senior Director of Marketing, MultiTech

Sara Brown is responsible for all marketing communications at IoT systems provider MultiTech. Brown is a strategic marketing professional dedicated to driving quantifiable business results with data-driven outreach to IoT/M2M user markets. For nearly 20 years, she’s boosted revenue of organizations big and small; including Sierra Wireless, Telit, and Wavecom.

Sue Rutherford, Senior Vice President, ABC, Vice President of Marketing, ORBCOMM

As the Vice President of Marketing for ORBCOMM, Ms. Rutherford is responsible for advancing the strategic direction of ORBCOMM marketing and its leading M2M satellite & cellular products & services, applications and solution offerings. Ms. Rutherford has more than two decades of global technology marketing and business development expertise in the telecommunications, software, semiconductor, SaaS and industrial automation industries and has led a number of multifunctional teams, working to increase constituency awareness and build market presence, customer footprint and strategic business value.

Linda Li, Group Executive Director, Chief Strategy Officer, Li Tong Group

As Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer at Li Tong Group (LTG), Linda Li pioneered the company's transformational closed-loop recovery solution for mobile devices and established the first carbon footprint savings systems for measuring the recycle-rebirth effectiveness of Hi-Tech product portfolios. Under her leadership, LTG has become the world's foremost authority and solutions provider for helping OEMs enable both Post-industrial Recovery and Post-Consumer Trade-in and Recycling on a single global platform. Through her previous start-up work and her experience as a product lifecycle management consultant with aerospace and defence OEMs such as Boeing and Rolls-Royce, Li has immersed herself in the lifecycle of Hi-Tech products from conceptualization and design, to production and commercialization. Today, Li is recognized as an expert in the field of Green Supply Chain Management, specializing in cradle-to-cradle and Design-for-Recycle programs.

During her tenure LTG has received numerous industry awards, including Supply & Demand Chain Executive's 2015 Green Supply Chain Award. She is also responsible for devising the company's M&A Strategy and capital market roadmap. Li holds a Master of Engineering degree in Supply Chain Management jointly from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Zaragoza, and a B.A.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from University of Toronto.

Jaap Groot, VP of Systems Business Development, Semtech

Jaap Groot is an experienced international executive with strong entrepreneurial skills who has created momentum, revenue growth and leadership in the IoT & M2M marketplace through outstanding commercial and business development skills and through creating relationships with industry leaders that are centered on solving strategic business issues. Jaap has founded, built and sold businesses during his career and worked for Qualcomm, MiX Telematics, and Sigfox. He is now part of the LoRa team at Semtech and the LoRa Alliance.

Allen Proithis, President, North America, SIGFOX

Allen Proithis is the President of SIGFOX North America and has an extensive background in the IoT and M2M markets, having led the development of several businesses in those spaces over the last five years. Before joining Sigfox, Proithis led the funding and launch of, an award-winning Internet of Things startup focused on accelerating value produced by the data generated by the IoT. Prior to that, he was executive vice president of InterDigital Solutions, where he was responsible for taking commercially promising technologies to the marketplace. In that role, he led the creation of Convida Wireless, an M2M joint venture with Sony, InterDigital, and Stephen Capital, and served as chairman. Earlier in his career, Proithis spent seven years at Hewlett-Packard.

Jack Indekeu, Chief Marketing Officer, Telit

Jack Indekeu joined Telit IoT Platforms (formerly ILS Technology) as Director of Marketing in 2013, became VP of Marketing of the company’s IoT Services business in 2015 and was appointed CMO of the corporation in May 2016. Jack is responsible for directing Telit’s marketing strategy, managing brand awareness, and reputation and developing global programs that drive the success of the company’s products and services in the market. Based at the company’s offices in Florida, USA, he’s leading Telit’s team of marketing professionals around the world. During his professional career, Jack gained over 25 years of wireless industry experience, holding a wide range of marketing leadership positions with InterDigital Communications and Motorola. He earned a degree in Marketing and an MBA in International Business.

John Schaefer, SVP & GM, PTC

Before joining PTC as the Senior Vice President of Development for ThingWorx, John was the VP of Development for ThingWorx and was in charge of development, consulting and support. Prior to ThingWorx, John was a VP of Product Management for SAP, focused on manufacturing intelligence. He joined SAP after his previous company, Lighthammer Software, was acquired by SAP in 2005.

Mark Bartolomeo, VP Connected Solutions, Verizon Enterprise, Verizon

Mark Bartolomeo leads connected solutions for Verizon Enterprise Solutions' Global Platform group, delivering solutions that combine machine-to-machine connectivity with Verizon's enterprise-class Platform elements. Prior to joining Verizon Wireless, Bartolomeo worked extensively in enterprise sales, marketing and leadership positions in the information technology industry throughout the U.S./ Europe.

Phil Skipper, Head of Business Development, Vodafone

Phil joined Vodafone in July 2013 as Head of IoT Business Development. He is fully responsible for developing IoT solutions and capabilities on a global basis. "IoT adoption will continue to accelerate with smaller organisations being able to harness the advantages of IoT technology to drive greater efficiency and value for their customers. As Head of Business Development for Vodafone IoT, I’m particularly excited to play a key role in developing this important application area" he says.

Phil has a wealth of experience in a broad range of industries including defense, FMCG, and media. Prior to joining Vodafone Phil was responsible for Markets and Portfolio within the Siemens Infrastructure & Cities organisation. Prior to that he held the position of Director Electro Mobility for Siemens and has worked for a number of well-known blue-chip organisations including Landis + Gyr and Mars in the UK, USA, and Switzerland.

Vijay Anand, Practice Director - IoT Business solutions, Wipro

Vijay heads the practice for Internet of Things in Wipro. He has played strategic business and technology roles in his multi-faceted professional career. He brings with him in-depth experience in the space of IoT/M2M across industries like industrial manufacturing, healthcare, energy, utilities, and retail. Cross-pollinating learnings and experiences across different industries and cultivation of innovations have been a key passion for Vijay. He successfully balances business and technology in his engagements, thereby connecting across the business stakeholder ecosystem to deliver value. He has spoken on IoT and M2M; connecting it to real world challenges and their solutions, in a number of international conferences, been part of policy/standards committees and is an industry recognized expert in this space.
